Afrocolombian Communities

Afro-Colombianity refers to the culture, history and identity of Afro-descendants in Colombia. This term encompasses the cultural heritage, traditions, music, dance, gastronomy and unique experiences of people of African descent living in Colombia. Afro-Colombianity also includes the struggle for the recognition of the rights of this community, as well as the fight against discrimination and racism. In Colombia, Afro-descendant populations have a significant influence on society and make an important contribution to the country's cultural diversity.
