Handicrafts

These cultures are very well known due to their great ability to develop handicrafts, which favors their economy.

The ethno-education project related to the area of math was related to the theme seen, which was functions.

The development of the project in this area was based on the elaboration of handles of different Colombian ethnic groups, with the materials used in this one we made different operations of functions which helped us to demonstrate how in the day to day or in things as simple as the handles we can apply this topic.

As for example the following exercise:

A group of artisans in an indigenous community is weaving bracelets with a specific pattern. They have recorded the following data showing the relationship between the number of rows woven and the length of the bracelet.

From the data provided, some activities that can be carried out are:

  • The function that models the relationship between the data is y= 3x
  • Vary the number of rows knitted or the length of the bracelet to find the variable
